The new product families aim to strengthen the Group’s own sustainability activities and to support customers in achieving their sustainability goals. The Röchling Group has named sustainability as one of the most important strategic areas for the future of the company. By 2035, the company is aiming to become one of the leading suppliers of bioplastics and recycled materials. “We are actively working to lay strong foundations for Röchling’s future,” explaines Franz Lübbers, member of the Röchling Group’s Executive Board and responsible for sustainability. “As a family-owned company, we are actively committed to promoting sustainability in order to preserve our planet and the Röchling Group for future generations. We therefore intend to increase the proportion of our products that are sustainable and thus conserve resources.”
Röchling-BioBoom®With the Röchling-BioBoom® umbrella brand for bioplastics, the company is promoting the use of bio-based raw materials and thereby reducing the use of fossil raw materials. Several Röchling sites have already been certified for this purpose in accordance with the ISCC Plus international sustainability standard for mass-balanced bioplastics. Further certifications are planned.
Röchling-ReLoop®With Röchling-ReLoop® for high-quality recycled materials, Röchling is conserving valuable resources and closing material cycles. The company is continuously working to increase the proportion of its products accounted for by recycled materials. “Together with our customers, we want to make our material flows even more efficient and establish customized recycling cycles,” says Lübbers. To this end, more company-owned recycling plants will be opened in the future, as it has already taken place in Geeste-Dalum/Germany.
Creating competitive advantagesWith the new product families, the company intends to create competitive advantages for its customers. “We want to reduce our ecological footprint and make our own processes and activities more sustainable. In doing so, we always have our customers in mind. We align our actions with their respective industries to create benefits for them,” says Lübbers. The sustainable product families Röchling-BioBoom® and Röchling-ReLoop® also contribute to this with their properties.
